According to Airbnb, their data shows that since the start of easing travel restrictions in Thailand, there’s a growing number of foreign tourists who are interested to visit the land of smiles.

Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Samui have emerged as Thailand’s favorite destinations.

As part of a travel revolution that is producing more economic prospects for communities, tourists want to have longer stays and discover more destinations, according to Airbnb.

Searches by foreign visitors for stays in Thailand using Airbnb increased by 180% showing that the tourism industry is driving Thailand’s economic recovery.

The Kingdom is also in the best position to capitalize on workation and the emergence of digital nomads. Tourists looking for stays that could make them stay longer in the country using Airbnb’s search platform are becoming more popular.

In addition, tourists are visiting unexplored places in the country like Cha-am, Ko Lanta, Trat, Pai. Airbnb said that this is a great opportunity for anyone to consider visiting locations that have not benefited from tourism.

Tourists that do most searches are coming from USA, UK, and Germany,

Amanpreet Bajaj of Airbnb said, “It is encouraging to see that Airbnb guests globally are interested in traveling to Thailand. As a result of the blurring barriers between life and travel, many travelers continue to appreciate their newfound freedom. In order to live and work remotely, they are ecstatic at the prospect of relocating to Thailand’s beautiful locations, both the most popular and the lesser-known. We are delighted to be collaborating with the Tourism Authority of TAT on a variety of projects that will promote Thailand internationally and recruit more “work from anywhere” workers. Here at Airbnb, we are dedicated to collaborating with the government and local hosts to guarantee that locals will benefit from the travel revolution.”

Airbnb’s platform improvements and innovations over the last year are now easier for Thai citizens to become hosts. In addition, tools in the website like “I’m Flexible,” which has been used over 2 billion times since May 2021, as well as Split Stays and Categories feature, encourage visitors to discover new areas.
