At about 1.30 p.m., Ikar Airlines flight EO3477 from Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow, Russia arrived at Phuket International Airport with 449 travelers onboard.
Russian travelers received a warm welcome from Airport personnel, headed by staff administrative officer Pongsak Srimai
Sunday also marked the return of Aeroflot’s direct 9-hour trip from Moscow to Phuket.
Three Russian carriers have planned direct flights to Phuket in preparation for the peak season.
From October 30 to March 25, Aeroflot will conduct daily direct flights between Moscow and Phuket. During the same period, Ikar Airlines will also resume flights from Sheremetyevo Airport every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Siberia Airlines will also provide flights between Irkutsk International Airport and Phuket every Thursday starting November 3 until March 23. It will also offer flights between Vladivostok and Phuket every Monday from November 7 to March 20, as well as flights from the third-largest city in Russia, Novosibirsk, from November 3 to March 23.
Phuket International Airport expects around 30,000 arrivals per day in November.
