Hotel in Chiang Mai Drops Room Rates To 1 Baht/Night To Boost Tourism

If you want to explore northern Thailand that meets your budget, reserve a stay at the Harmonize Hotel located in Chiang Mai this week for only 1 baht. The reservation must be made by August 7 for a stay on or before October 31.

In addition to the affordable room rate of 1 baht, the hotel will also give guests a 300 baht dinner voucher.  This means you will get compensated to travel and stay!

Phunat Thanalapanich, president of the Northern Thai Hotels Association, recently announced that the 3-star Harmonize Hotel in the Mueang district is one of the hotels engaging with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Robin Hood Application to reduce hotel rates in order to boost tourism in the province.

Currently, hotels in Chiang Mai are at 30%.  This season, the campaign seeks to increase the percentage to 50%. The Tourism Authority of Thailand believes that the program would earn 20 million baht per month this summer. Welcoming more tourists will benefit Chiang Mai’s restaurants, car, and motorcycle rental agencies, taxi drivers, and other local businesses.

Rooms must be booked using the Robinhood mobile application from August 1 and August 7 to qualify.  To get the discount, use the code CNX1 at checkout and pay using the SCB mobile banking app. The code is valid for up to 200 uses per day.  Residents of Chiang Mai are not eligible to avail of the said discount offer.

While in Chiang Mai, try 3 baht noodles at Kway Teow Sam Baht (“3 baht noodle”) restaurant in the Mueang area.  Even though inflation increase the cost of materials, the restaurant owner vowed not to raise the price of his noodles.  He has not increased the price of his 3-baht noodles in 34 years and has no plans to do so.
