The magnificent view of a mountain in Thailand’s renowned northern region of Chiang Mai attracted a large number of tourists. They visit the summit of the 1,100-meter mountain to witness the beautiful sunrise.

Mae Chaem’s district chairman anticipates more tourists will visit the mountain in the coming months due to the chilly weather and the Covid-19 situation continuing to improve.

Doi Mon Mak became a new viewpoint for tourists in 2019. In 2021, a campground was established for travelers could spend the night and witness the sunrise.

After being shut for more than 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions, hotels and resorts in Mae Chaem are now open for the high season.

The district also intends to construct and improve mountain tourism amenities. This comprises improving roads leading to nature trails, parking lots, and the extension of campsites.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is planning major campaigns to attract tourists to Chiang Mai.

One of these campaigns is “Northern Charm of the Past.” This campaign focuses on the culture of Chiang Mai’s Lanna Kingdom. The campaign’s goal is to attract active seniors, multigenerational families, and working individuals.

Other campaigns will focus on craftsmanship, historic temples, and culinary arts.
