The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the latest marketing campaign titled “Amazing Secondary Cities, Must Visit, Must Love” to advertise the country’s lesser-known tourist destinations. The campaign’s objective is to emphasize local traditions and cultural heritage through fascinating travel experiences that demonstrate each region’s identity and distinctive qualities.

This year, the TAT intends to diversify tourism activities and distribute the benefits of a projected 2.38 trillion baht in tourism revenue. The campaign highlights the idea of exploring secondary cities and villages, which provides visitors with a new and fascinating dimension by emphasizing unique travel experiences. The 55 destinations serve these experiences, which include natural beauty, cultural heritage, and captivating attractions.

Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn stated that the campaign would assist in the redistribution of income from tourism activities that typically circulate in major cities and resorts to the country’s 55 secondary destinations, thereby aiding in the restoration of the tourism sector wrecked by the Covid-19 pandemic.

During 2023, the TAT is also cooperating with travel media to provide itineraries that encourage Thai travelers in main cities to visit secondary cities. This campaign will advertise lesser-known destinations and provide visitors with a distinct and diverse travel experience while helping the tourism industry’s recovery.
