Thailand has announced a tourism slogan to promote the country to international tourists next year:
“Visit Thailand 2022, Now Even More Amazing Thailand Has It All.”
PBS World reports that the tagline was revealed on September 30 at an online conference of the CCSA or Center for Economic Situation Administration. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the meeting, which also authorized the establishment of a tourism marketing fund for Phuket and incentives for medium and small businesses.
Officials have decided to support the tourist promotion fund with contributions from both the private and civil sectors. The fund will promote tourism in Phuket and turn the island into a “world-class” destination via less bureaucracy and sustainable growth. The CESA also authorized reducing the quarantine period from 14 to 7 days and the return of flights from Russia to Phuket beginning at the end of October.
Additionally, the Thai government authorized subsidized measures to help small and medium-sized businesses to retain their workers. From November through January 2022, each worker would get a subsidy worth 3,000 baht every month. Businesses must keep at least 95% of their staff and pay workers at minimum wage at least to be eligible for the subsidy. According to Thai PBS World, Thailand has about 480,000 SMEs with less than 200 employees each.
