Bangkok Retains Title As The Best Leisure City in Asia-Pacific

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that Bangkok has been voted as the ‘Best Leisure City in the Asia-Pacific’ for the sixth straight year in Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022, while the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok was voted as the ‘Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific’ and Thai Airways as 3rd best airline in Asia-Pacific.

“Bangkok’s consistent recognition by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific voters as the best vacation destination fits TAT’s ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign. It shows Bangkok’s appeal as well as how much the city has to offer that is aligned with the 5F, 4M foundations— festival, food, fashion, film, fight, music, museum, master, and meta. All of these can be found in Bangkok.”

In 2008, Bangkok has been awarded the title of “Best Leisure City in Asia-Pacific”. The title was not featured in the 2021 awards, but it returned this year to be won again by Thailand’s capital, which earned the distinction for 5 consecutive years from 2015 to 2020.

Bangkok ranked third on the list of “Best Business Cities in Asia,” after Singapore and Hong Kong. The rankings of these top 3 cities have not changed since last year.

THAI ranked third on the “Best Asia-Pacific Airline” after Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. These 3 airlines maintained their position from the 2021 awards.

The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, was selected as ‘Best Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific’ and ‘Best Business Hotel in the World.’

The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok won the rankings for ‘Best Business Hotel in Bangkok,’ followed by the Shangri-La Bangkok and JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok.

Readers and subscribers voted for the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2022 from July to September with the results independently gathered by the research firm Business Intelligence.
