Central Festival Samui in partnership with Koh Samui Hospital and Bangkok Hospital Samui opened a COVID-19 testing center named “Samui Swab Centre” for Sandbox or Test & Go tourists. Samui Swab Centre’s goal is to provide convenient RT-PCR tests for tourists that are required to provide two negative test results upon entry to Thailand.
The testing center which is located in the island’s largest shopping mall is meant to be more convenient for tourists than going to Koh Samui Hospital. According to the Samui District Chief, visitors were delighted with the service.
Teerapong Chuaychoo, Samui District Chief said that local authorities want to provide tourists with the most convenient service possible. Apart from saving their time and money on transportation, the officials claim the swab center would also reduce the risk of infection for travelers since they are no longer required to visit Koh Samui Hospital for their mandatory RT PCR test. The swab center can handle 100 persons every day and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
