Local officials told reports that the River Khwai Bridge Week event would take place next month for fully vaccinated individuals who have negative COVID-19 tests.
A meeting presided over by Kanchanaburi governor Jirakiat Phumsawat made the decision that the event will take place from December 17 to 26 in 2 locations: River Khwai Bridge in Muang district and a field owned by the Kanchanaburi provincial administrative organization.
The event will be a twice-daily sound and light display at the River Khwai Bridge commemorating the bridge’s history during World War II. Guests may begin queuing from 5;30 pm for the 7 pm event. Admission for the second event will commence at 8:30 pm.
The weeklong event will include a set of raffles, a trade show, and live stage performances.
Guests going to the event should be fully inoculated against COVID-19. For unvaccinated individuals, they must show a negative COVID-19 antigen test result conducted 3 days before going to the event.
Guests are required to follow health protocols such as wearing face masks, temperature checks and refrain from bringing drinks or food inside the event venue.
