Since November 1 is approaching, Bangkok authorities visited Suvarnabhumi International Airport to discuss COVID-19 protocols and precautionary measures. The reopening plan is to waive the mandatory quarantine for travelers who are fully inoculated against COVID-19, coming from low-risk countries identified by the Thai government and tests negative for the virus. (For a list and guidelines, CLICK HERE) Those who are not vaccinated or come from a “high risk” country will be required to stay in a quarantined hotel.
Officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration examined processes for travelers entering Thailand, including the addition of QR code checks for the Thailand Pass, a requirement that will replace Certificate of Entry. They visited places where passengers would meet staff from alternate quarantine hotels and discussed processes for properly delivering tourists to their hotels.
Additionally, Bangkok officials visited the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park Hotel to ensure compliance with Safety & Health Administration Plus regulations. According to administrative regulations, at least 70% of hotel staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
