LUXperience Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) introduced a travel package named “Amazing New Chapters: Discover Luxperience in Thailand,” which aimed to attract wealthy South Korean tourists.

This package includes business class tickets to Bangkok and accommodation at the 5-star Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok which costs approximately THB 12,000 baht per night.

TAT is optimistic that this campaign will make Thailand an ideal destination for South Koreans by focusing on luxury travelers, honeymooners, long-stayers, millennials, couples, and families.

The Discover Luxperience is one of the TAT’s Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters campaign, which also features 5-star hotels, premium bars, Michelin-rated restaurants, luxury vehicle rentals, private yachts, helicopters, and cruises.

“This campaign’s goal is to attract luxury and wealthy travelers from South Korea who want to experience Thailand’s new premium tourism offerings in all tourist destinations.”

Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand. Seoul

Phuket, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai are the favorite tourist destinations for South Koreans. The TAT office in Seoul also promotes tourism to Chiang Rai, Krabi, Hua Hin, and Samui.

Between January and November this year, almost 400,000 South Koreans visited Thailand. TAT anticipates that the number will be above 500,000 by the end of 2022.

TAT expects to welcome approximately 1.3 million South Korean tourists in 2023, representing 70% of the 1.88 million South Korean visitors to Thailand in 2019.

The TAT intends to increase the country’s tourism income by attracting tourists, especially high-spenders. Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said that Thailand must focus on attracting “high-end spending travelers rather than a large number of tourists.”
