Traveling to Thailand is about to get a whole lot easier and more efficient for non-Thai nationals, thanks to the introduction of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Starting 1 May 2025, this new system will be mandatory for all travelers entering the country, whether by air, land, or sea. Here’s what you need to know about this important change.
The TDAC is an electronic replacement for the traditional paper-based disembarkation card that was previously required for all foreign visitors upon entry into Thailand. This digital move aligns Thailand’s immigration process with global trends in travel technology, promising faster immigration processing, reduced paperwork, and improved border security.
* Paperless System: The TDAC eliminates the need for paper forms, making the immigration process smoother and more environmentally friendly.
* Security and Efficiency: With the digital system, data handling becomes more secure and processing times at entry points are significantly reduced.
* Easy Access and Convenience: Travelers can complete their registration online and receive an acknowledgment via email, which they will present at the immigration counter upon arrival.
Travelers must register for the TDAC within 3 days prior to their arrival in Thailand. The registration process involves providing essential personal details, trip information, and an address in Thailand (e.g., hotel or residential address).
Registration for the TDAC is accessible online through the official portal: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
From 1 May 2025, the TDAC becomes a mandatory entry requirement for all non-Thai nationals visiting Thailand. Be sure to register in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry.
With the TDAC, travelers can look forward to a faster, more secure, and hassle-free arrival experience in Thailand. Happy travels! 🌏✈️
