The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration approved the removal of pre-travel testing requirements for international arrivals. Here are the updated guidelines that will take effect starting April 1, 2022:
Eligible Travelers
International visitors under either of 3 existing entry programs – Test & Go, Sandbox, or Alternative Quarantine – are permitted to enter Thailand without providing proof of a negative RT-PCR test result.
Entry Points
*The number of approved airports has expanded to 8: These are Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Chiang Mai, U-Tapao, and newly added Hat Yai.
*Increased land border checkpoints from 3 to 4 — Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Songkhla, and Satun (new)
*Points of entry via water are expanded from 2 to 3 provinces. These are Phuket, Chon Buri, and Surat Thani (new).
*The types of vessels allowed into Thailand have also been increased from yachts to ships operated by the local government, while local crew members on cargo ships are also allowed to enter.
COVID-19 Test Requirements
2 tests will still be conducted for Sandbox and Test & Go travelers. The first test is upon arrival and the second test will be a self-conducted Antigen test on Day 5.
Changes In Sandbox Guidelines
The 7-day requirement for travelers under the Sandbox entry program will be reduced to 5 days. After the 5th day of stay within the Sandbox area, travelers are allowed to travel anywhere in Thailand.
Alternative Quarantine Requirement Changes
The quarantine under this entry program will be reduced to 5 days and will undergo a PCR test on Day 4-5.
