Starting March 1, travelers under Test & Go program are no longer required to undergo a second RT PCR test on Day 5.  However, it will be replaced with a rapid antigen test which is self-administered fast and available at any convenience store in Thailand.

To make things smoother, the ‘COVID-19’ insurance coverage requirement will be decreased from $50,000 to $20,000.

The second second PCR test was implemented in response to the Omicron variant’s rapid spread in Thailand.  However, the extra test, which must be paid for by the traveler, as well as the need to stay in a certified SHA+ hotel while awaiting results, deterred many travelers from arranging a trip to Thailand. Today, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) accepted revisions to the test requirements.

Hotel bookings are necessary for the first day in the country while travelers await the results of their PCR test. On the fifth day after their arrival, travelers are no longer required to book a second hotel stay. Thus, the prerequisites are the same as they were when Test & Go started on November 1 last year.

The Test & Go program is one of 3 entry options accessible to anyone who wants to go to Thailand. The Sandbox program and Alternative Quarantine program are the other two choices.  Registration for a Thailand Pass is required for everyone visiting Thailand during this time period, including Thai citizens. Apply for Thailand Pass HERE.

Applications for Thailand Pass is free, therefore exercise caution while browsing the internet for services that require payment for your application. There are legal visa agencies that will assist you in uploading your documentation and resolving any possible issues in the system.

Also on March 1, land travelers can now enter through the Nong Kai, Udon Thani, and Songkhla borders.

Additionally, the provincial color zoning system will remain unchanged, and on-site classes are now permitted in schools.
