Good news to the international yachting community, Thailand welcomes back international yachts. Phuket is a leader in luring foreign boats and superyachts as they return to the “Superyacht Hub of Asia” after the pandemic. The number of superyachts visiting the ‘Pearl of the Andaman’ has increased significantly.
Full-service marinas can accommodate all the demands of a superyacht providing berth on boats up to 130 meters in length, workforce, and docking facilities. The government is reportedly pressing ahead with its yacht and marina hub development plan for Phuket, Pattaya, and Koh Samui.
Phuket’s marinas and Thailand’s friendly hospitality, close cruising, and gorgeous white sand beaches make for an ideal superyacht base at any of the island’s marinas. Gordon Fernandes, the co-founder of Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS), notes that a short trip to the outlying islands away from the activity of Phuket reveals a world of serenity and tranquility.
“A fantastic location for superyachts, boats may set out from one of Phuket’s marinas to cruise to Similan Islands, Phi Phi islands, Racha Islands, Coral Island, Koh Yao Yai & Koh Yao Noi, Koh Khai Islands, Koh Bon, and Koh Phangnga.”
Tourists entering the country via yacht or superyacht are not required to pay for tests upon entry (unless shows symptoms), COVID insurance, and the downloading of different papers before entering Thailand.
