Thailand Updates Vaccination Appointment System For Foreigners

Thailand has set up a new vaccination appointment system for foreign nationals in Thailand who wish to be inoculated. They must book an appointment in advance or ‘register online’ with authorized hospitals. After registering, foreigners must wait for confirmation from the hospital about the planned day and schedule of vaccination.

The department previously established a website for foreigners to apply for vaccines at https://thailandintervac.com/. However, registration on the website is closed. DDC  said that the updated appointment system would make registration more accessible and safer for foreigners.

The recent vaccination phase is for foreign nationals aged 60 or older and those with underlying health conditions. There are now 2 vaccines available: AstraZeneca and Sinovac. The following hospitals have been authorized for preregistration:

Phyathai 2 Hospital

According to details on the Phyathai 2 Hospital’s website phyathai2international.com, signup will take place via Google Forms and pre-registration starts on July 12 to 16, 2021 between 09:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Vaccines available are Astrazeneca only, and they will be provided for free.

Once the registration is complete, the hospital will deliver an SMS confirmation to the applicant’s provided mobile phone number the following day.

Note that appointment dates cannot be rescheduled, and vaccines cannot be transferred to anyone.

Individuals diagnosed with any of the 7 diseases (stroke, coronary artery disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, chronic kidney disease) must show documentation and identification documents at the vaccination area. Also, provide at least a photograph of medical records, including data about the specific condition or medications with their names may be used as proof. These documents should not be older than one year.

Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital

Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital’s preregistration period will begin in August.

Second Phase

Phase 2 of foreigners’ inoculation will be for individuals under 60 who live in Thailand. The DDC said it would contact ambassadors, consular officials, and employees of foreign organizations on the nominative list supplied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrange immunization services.
